Did you to make your own Rain Gauge last week? This week Des will show you how to make a Water Tornado in a Bottle. Check his method below and try it out at home.
Materials needed
Adult Supervision is required for this activity.
Instructions:
Step 1 Glue the bottle caps together from the flat part of each cap.
Step 2 Ask an adult to help you to drill a hole in the centre of the caps right through.
Step 3 Fill one of the bottles with water. If you want, you can add some food colouring to the water.
Step 4 Screw-on the newly modified caps to the bottles. Now you have the two bottles attached to each other and connected via a hole in the middle.
Step 5 Flip the bottles upside down to have the filled bottle on top.
Step 6 Give the top bottle a good spin. Now watch the water flow from one bottle to the other as a vortex is created.
