STEM through Storytelling Course
For Kindergarten & Primary School Educators (Years 1-4)
Telling stories is how humans traditionally pass knowledge from generation to generation and hence, learning science through stories is perceived to be an effective teaching method that has the potential of immersing children into scientific concepts and deepen their scientific learning. In relation to this, a well-planned and well-articulated storytelling session offers children the kind of conducive environment needed for them to express their feelings and build their creative and critical thinking skills.
After last year’s success, Esplora Interactive Science Centre saw the need to organise a second edition of its Storytelling course, to facilitate educators’ understanding of how they can make use of stories to kindle an interest in STEM subjects amongst young children. Throughout the two-day course, educators will be introduced to techniques that will help them expand their educational toolkit of STEM-related knowledge and resources. They will be encouraged to engage in an informal discussion where they can share their personal experiences in teaching through stories.
This short course will take place at Esplora Interactive Science Centre in Kalkara on the 13th and 14th of September 2021 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
This course can accommodate up to 25 people on a first come first served basis.
Interested participants are encouraged to book by not later than Monday 23rd August 2021.

The course is co-funded by Arts Council Malta. A minimal fee of 10 euros will be requested upon booking. This covers lunches, coffee breaks and any materials provided.
