What are your best memories of Christmas? Dinner with family or friends, a large Christmas tree or a house full of decorations, mulled wine or presents? This festive season create more magical memories with us here at Esplora as the science centre prepares to celebrate the festive season.
Between Saturday 17th December 2022 and Sunday 8th January 2023, Esplora will be buzzing with activities as we merge science with the Christmas cheer with various fun and dazzling science shows and workshops that will have all the visitors buzzing with excitement. This year we will be exploring science and technology through the wonders of Christmas.
During these days we also have a special offer! We are giving one free child entrance with every paying adult. Offer is valid for children of 15 years and under.
During your visit, immerse yourselves in the Planetarium experience as you take an exciting journey to the Universe and back which will leave you wanting for more! We will also be introducing a new Planetarium Film – Dinosaurs, A Story of Survival. And whilst you’re visiting Esplora, don’t forget to visit the EsploraCafè and try our delicious festive menu!
Entrance tickets for Christmas at Esplora can be bought at the door on a first-come first-served basis. A Science show/workshop or a Planetarium Film/Show can be booked at an extra charge of €1 per visitor from the Esplora reception.
Science Shows / Workshops
Once Upon a Christmas – Join us for an interactive storytelling workshop as we go on a journey with Santa Claus to explore how families in Malta and Gozo celebrate Christmas. Ages: 3-6 years
Lights, Camera, Action! – Do you love Christmas movies? Join Esplora’s film crew and help them capture the magic of Christmas as we recreate some classic elements of a Christmas movie using science and technology, such as the Green Screen Technology and Foley sound effect. Ages: 5+ years.
Santa’s Sleigh Workshop – At Esplora, we’ve redesigned Santa’s sleigh to include autonomous driving and now’s your chance to test out a prototype! Build a sphero-powered sleigh for Santa using K’NEX and drive it to deliver presents around Malta and Gozo. Ages: 7+ years. This workshop is supported by robocoach and digital.com.mt.
