Island Guardians project receives Special Mention – Society4Med Award

Esplora is thrilled to have been awarded a Special Mention by the Society4Med Award organised by BlueMissionMed. Esplora’s project on marine plastic pollution Island Guardians: For a Plastic Free Med, funded by the Remedies Consortium, was “recognized for its holistic approach, combining beach cleanups with well-structured educational programmes, including toolkits, books, and an art exhibition” in the Category ‘Awareness and communication campaigns/activities’.

The Society4Med Award, launched in collaboration with CNR, FVA, La Saison Bleue and WWF, aims to showcase the societal commitments of Mediterranean organisations towards the EU Mission: Restore Our Ocean and Waters and to present actions and initiatives which contribute to the Mission’s objectives.

We thank the jury and BlueMissionMed for their recognition of our efforts. We also thank Remedies and EU Mission Ocean for their unwavering support.

We would like to congratulate all Award and Special Mention winners and look forward to working with more and more organisations like these. Together we can tackle the huge challenge of plastic pollution in our beloved Mediterranean Sea.
