Discover the Forces of Nature with Esplora’s summer programme

This summer, families visiting Malta can embark on an exciting element-based journey through the forces of nature at Esplora Interactive Science Centre’s brand-new summer programme. Themed Discover the Forces of Nature, this programme transforms science into an immersive adventure where children and adults alike can explore the elements of earth, wind, fire and air, and even Space, through live shows, storytelling sessions and hands-on activities designed to entertain while educating.

Perfect for both tourists and local families looking for some cool summer activities with a difference, the programme combines spectacular demonstrations with playful learning experiences suitable for a range of age groups.

One of the highlights is undoubtedly Science on Fire, a thrilling interactive science show where chemistry takes centre stage. Rainbow-coloured flames dance through the air while controlled fireballs reveal the secrets behind combustion, energy and elemental reaction in a dramatic spectacle that’s visually stunning and designed to ignite curiosity in young minds.

In Qatra Qatra [Drop by Drop], visitors can follow the journey of a single drop of water from cloud to tap and back again, discovering, along the way, how Malta, one of Europe’s driest countries, historically used science and ingenuity to collect, store and protect water.

Younger children can dive into the imaginative Festa fir-Renju tar-Ramel [A Feast at the Kingdom of Sand], a lively storytelling workshop filled with dancing, games and marine-themed fun inspired by Malta’s beaches and sea life. Meanwhile, aspiring young explorers can become palaeontologists for a day in Digit Diggers, a hands-on workshop where participants investigate dinosaur footprints to uncover clues about how these prehistoric giants moved, lived and survived.

Returning by popular demand is Beautiful Bubbles, Esplora’s much-loved bubble show that continues to delight audiences year after year. Visitors can discover how bubbles form, the surprising shapes they can take, and even how to hold one in the palms of their hands.

For the youngest visitors, It’s Only Natural offers a gentle sensory play session inspired by the outdoors, encouraging babies and toddlers to connect with nature through the texture of materials and playful exploration.

Adding another dimension to the experience is Esplora’s Planetarium programme, which complements the summer activities by inviting visitors to journey beyond Earth and into the wonders of space.

With activities blending science, creativity and discovery, Esplora’s summer programme offers families an entertaining way to escape the heat, while experiencing one of Malta’s most engaging attractions.
