Are you ready for Choco-Late?

Choco-late is this year’s Esplora’s returning event for adults only and as the title hints, it will be an event all about chocolate. This event is being organised again in collaboration with the Institute for Tourism Studies (ITS) and together we shall be exploring the science behind chocolate and chocolate making. We shall be holding demonstrations, hands-on workshops and activities on several related topics such as sculptures made of chocolate, pairing chocolate with wine, chocolate experiments and more.

Piping Techniques

Many of us might be curios how pastry chefs manage to pipe intricate designs and motifs with chocolate. Join us for the Piping Techniques workshop where one can experience this first hand as lecturers and students will demonstrate piping skills and you, the visitor, will be able to experience how to pipe yourself. When you think of a sculpture you might think of stone, bronze or any other material.At Esplora we’re experimenting with Chocolate. The very talented ITS students and lecturers will be showcasing how chocolate sculpture pieces are created and assembled together using nothing but chocolate.

Want to impress your friends in your next party? Then come and taste chocolate-based cocktails with recipes prepared by ITS students and experience the combination between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for a perfect chocolate match.

Easter is coming up soon, so why not explore some interesting ways to decorate your Easter goodies. Some very simple and others rather more intricate. In this workshop, you will be able to explore methods to create chocolate garnishes with the help of ITS students and experts.

Chocolate & Wine Pairing

Calling all wine and chocolate lovers! Our experts from ITS will take you to an educational and enjoyable wine and chocolate experience. Discover the rules and secrets in how chocolate can be matched to certain wines using our senses of sight, smell and taste.
