Do you want to create a machine just like Ġina and Katrina did?
If you’re watching the new episodes of the second season of Ġina u l-Esploraturi, every Wednesday at 15.10 on TVM, during the 7th and 8th episode Ġina and Katrina talked about the valuable work of an engineer. Together, they also created a recycling machine. Do you have a problem that you need to solve? Would you like to create a machine like theirs?
Follow the steps that an engineer would take and you will succeed! Read here to know more:
What exactly is the problem that you need to solve? What does the machine needs to do to solve the problem?
Start looking and collecting items from around the house. What could help you create the machine? Pieces of cardboard, dominoes, small cars, books, plastic cups and so on. Think about how you can put these things together so that they can fit and one moves the other.
Whenever you come up with a good idea – something out of the ordinary, write it down before you forget it! Plan and draw how you imagine the machine to be like and how the items that you collected could be assembled together.
Build your own machine! Follow the plan that you have made and where necessary, do not hesitate to ask an adult for help.
It’s time to see whether the machine works! Did it work the way you wanted?
Ideas almost never work the first time you try them so don’t be afraid to try again! See what you can do to adjust the machine and make it work better. Try again until you succeed. Don’t be discouraged!
