Time flies! In fact, May 1st, 2024, will mark the twenty-year anniversary since the Maltese islands joined the European Union. Esplora, Malta’s unique interactive science centre, has been hand-picked by the Ministry for European Funds, Equality, Reforms and Social Dialogue as one of the prominent sites which will be participating in the National 1st May celebrations. To commemorate this historical day, Esplora, will be opening its doors to all visitors free of charge, thus providing everyone and anyone with an opportunity to experience the wide array of attractions the popular Centre has to offer.
Anyone who visits Esplora between 10 am and 5 pm on 1st May 2024 will not be charged an admission fee.

Visitors of the centre are encouraged to explore, think, imagine as they are offered an opportunity to discover and understand science at their own pace through a series of hands-on experiences and phenomena-related exhibits. At Esplora, visitors of all ages are invited to embark on an interactive and exciting journey into science through cosmology, plate tectonics, the human body and wave action discovering the relevance of science in their everyday lives. Undoubtedly one of Malta’s most stunning signature attractions, Esplora is sure to provide an entertaining environment which aims to entice curiosity for science by engaging its visitors in interactive activities, tempting their inquisitiveness through hands on workshops, and assisting the path to scientific discovery with a variety of entertaining science shows. The interactive science centre which was part financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund first opened its doors to the public on October 28th, 2016. Ever since, it has consistently aimed to be an inspiration for the budding scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians of our future generations.
