Esplora welcomes HRH Princess Dr Nisreen El-Hashemite and delegation of RASIT

Today we were happy to welcome HRH Princess Dr Nisreen El-Hashemite, Executive Director, RASIT, Prof. Elie Elzouki, Director of Sustainable Development and Communications, RASIT and Prof. Celine Merheb, Director of International Relations and Projects Incubator at Esplora Interactive Science Centre. The delegation was led by Senior Director Esplora, Mr Olaf McKay and other members of the Esplora team and were given a tour of the science centre.

The Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT) are in Malta to present an award to the Hon. Prime Minister, Robert Abela as Malta has been designated as the World Capital of Women and Girls in Science. Following this award Malta will be developing and implementing a year-long programme of scientific, social cultural and economic activities which are consistent with the goals of the Capital Initiative.

Princess Dr. Nisreen said that during her travels she experienced various science centres around the world but she stated that she sees that Esplora touches people, sparks creativity and critical thinking in a more tangible way. She described it as a centre that speaks her dream.

RASIT’s overall objective is to promote the sciences and strengthen its influence on society’s sustainable development programs. They champion the contribution that science and innovation can make to economic prosperity, quality of life and environmental sustainability.
