At Esplora, we strive to make our younger generation aware of the relevance and importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in everyday life. We also seek to inspire and encourage young people to take up STEM subjects at school to one day be able to pursue a career in the STEM fields.
From January till March, the main theme of our activities is going to revolve around Inspiring the Next Generation focusing on various workshops including Akkwatiku and Explore VEX IQ as well as engaging science shows such as STEM Game Show and ElectroBuzz.
Here is the complete list of Activities for the first quarter of the year:
Science Shows
Beautiful Bubbles: Big, small, cubical, light, heavy bubbles. Why can you see rainbow colours in bubbles? Why do they always form spheres? Why do they always fall to the ground? Can we fill bubbles with different gases? Created for the Little Explorers, this mini bubbles show will explore the science behind beautiful bubbles.
This science show in offered only in January and March.
Ideal for Ages: 3-7 years
ElectroBuzz: Electricity is all around us and it goes on an incredible journey to reach the sockets in your home. But how did we manage to harness nature’s electricity? How do we generate electricity locally? And how can we do so sustainably? Did you know that you can use your brain’s electrical messages to control other people? Join us in this fantastic science show to spark your imagination and make electrifying discoveries!
This science show is offered from January till March.

ElectroBuzz is supported by Identity Malta.
STEM Game Show: Ignite, React, Magnify, Adapt, Identify, Defend or Electrify. What is the fire triangle? How do animals adapt to their environment? How can you check whether a substance is an acid or an alkali? Choose a card and discover more about the amazing world we live in.
This science show is offered in January and February.
Ideal for Ages: 7+
Superhero in you: Join us on a journey of discovery to find out all about different superpowers. Help us identify strong shapes, get up and close to things which are far away or very tiny. Learn about how animals are very good at being invisible and try out the ultimate superpower of moving objects with your brain. Superhero in you is a fun, playful science show using scientific concepts that will dazzle and amaze our young audiences.

Ideal for Ages: 3-8 years
Workshops
Explore VEX IQ: Robots and AI are becoming part of our everyday life and we need to be prepared for technological changes now more than ever before. Explore how robots are used in industry, control VEX IQ robots to complete a task or try programming a robot yourself.
This workshop is offered from January until end of March.
