Moonfall: The Rare Lunar Legacy

Opening 7 February – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Space Journey immersive exhibition.

Prepare for an adventure that takes you beyond the stars on an unforgettable journey through the mysteries of the moon with the temporary exhibition – Moonfall: The Rare Lunar Legacy.

Opening to the public on 7 February, this immersive exhibition will offer you a rare chance to witness one of the largest lunar meteorites on Earth—a 2006g slice of Tisserlitine 001, a fragment from the Moon itself!

These rare meteorites, hurled to Earth by asteroid and comet impacts, are among the most coveted scientific treasures. In fact, only 306 lunar meteorite samples exist, and most are off-limits to the public. For the first time ever, you have the chance to witness these fragments up close.

However, Moonfall: The Rare Lunar Legacy is more than just an exhibition—it’s a fully immersive journey into space where we showcase the intriguing science behind the Moon’s connection to Earth and tell engaging stories about the Moon and lunar meteorites. This is in line with our reputation as Malta’s leading educational and cultural destination, being the National Interactive Science Centre.

From a stunning display to unexpected experiences, this is an exploration that promises to leave you awe-struck. Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to step into the cosmos!

Access to this experience is included in the standard Esplora entrance fee.
