With a little bit of imagination you can create just about anything you dream of. All you need is a few materials and creativity to turn your ideas into reality. At Esplora, during the month of November, we will be offering different kinds of activities focusing on tinkering to create fantastic objects using basic materials.
Join us any time during the month of November for Think It, Make It! and participate in one or more of the activities below.
Workshops
Cardboard Automata has always been one of Esplora’s most popular workshops because kids (and adults alike!) enjoy this activity so much since it gives them an opportunity to make their own creations. This workshop helps kids explore how simple machines work by using elements such as cams, levers and linkages. For the health and safety of our visitors, this workshop will be offered for a limited number of families each time and will also be held at limited times as the items used need to be sterilised in between one workshop and the other. (Ages: 7+ since it involves the usage of a hot glue gun.)
Science Shows
STEM Game Show (Ages: 8+): Ignite, React, Magnify, Adapt, Identify, Defend or Electrify. When you participate in this science show you will have the chance to explore the world of science according to the card that you get! Answers questions such as ‘What is a fire triangle?’, ‘How do animals adapt to their environment?’ ‘How can you check whether a substance is an acid or an alkali?’ Choose a card and discover more about the world we’re living in. What experiment will you get?
Electrify! (Ages: 8+): This science show helps you explore the wonders of electricity. Electricity goes on an incredible journey to reach the sockets in each house. But how do we manage to harness nature’s electricity? What is a circuit? How can we generate electricity? And how can we use our brain’s electrical messages to control other people? Join us to spark your imagination!
Beautiful Bubbles (Ages: 3-7): Find out what bubbles are made of and how bubbles are formed. This interactive show features bubbles of all sizes, going up, this way, that way and all over the place. It has been created with the Little Explorers in mind, that is why its way too much fun!
Science on the Spot
Scribble Bots (Ages: 7+): If your kids love robots… and they also love art, then test out Esplora’s DIY robot. With this special Science on the Spot anyone can create their own art piece to take home! Let’s get creative!
Paper Helicopter (Ages: 5+ since scissors are used): Turn a simple piece of paper into a spinning helicopter and explore the principles of flight and motion.
Planetarium
Apart from all the activities mentioned above, there will also be several Planetarium shows up and running not only in the weekends but every day.
