Think it! Make it! This Carnival at Esplora

Carnival is a fun-time in Malta as it is dominated by vibrant colours, elaborate costumes, original floats, art, music and above all spontaneity. It is also a special time for the children as they get to dress-up as their favourite characters, apply fancy face makeup, eat a lot of candy as well as spend some quality time with their family and friends.

The Carnival holidays are the perfect time for families to immerse themselves in a world of colour and explore chemical reactions whilst at the same time getting their hands dirty with playful inventions and hands-on tinkering. This year, we invite you to come visit us during this Carnival period as the science centre will be a unique place to be! Together we will explore tinkering and making whilst unleashing our creativity and imagination as we immerse ourselves in a world of colour and interactive activities.

Think it! Make it! This Carnival at Esplora will be held on the following days:

The Opening hours will be from 10am till 5pm.

Entrance Tickets will be available at the door on a first-come first-served basis. A Science Show/Workshop or a Planetarium Film/Show can be booked at an extra charge of €1 per visitor (applicable from Age 3 upwards)

KreaKarru – The Carnival float is a huge part of this week’s celebrations! With the help of our clever friend MatataBot and some simple coding skills, design and draw your very own traditional carnival float. Ages: 7+ years.

This workshop is supported by robocoach and digital.com.mt

Costume Studio – Every year, Carnival in Malta is a time for us to dress up in colourful, vibrant fancy costumes. But this time around, use your creativity to create and build a carnival costume from scratch using an unusual material – cardboard boxes. Ages: 5+ years.

Let’s See Colour – During this interactive storytelling workshop, you’ll meet Henry the Hedgehog who is seeing the colours of the yellow sun and green grass for the very first time! Help him learn about these new colours through the use of colourful shadows and shapes. Ages: 2-4 years.

Planetarium Films/Shows – During your visit, immerse yourself in the Planetarium experience as you take an exciting journey with our fantastic Planetarium Films/Shows. Films and shows on offer during Think it! Make it! This Carnival at Esplora include Dream to Fly, We are Stars, Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival and the live show Wonders of the Night Sky.
