Esplora Interactive Science Centre achieves ‘Service of Excellence’ mark

Through an independent exercise carried out by the Quality of Service Directorate, within the Office of the Prime Minister, it was positively noted that the services offered by Esplora Interactive Science Centre in 2022 were deemed as ‘excellent’. The Science Centre received an overall score of 89.2% and all areas covered by the comprehensive exercise received a 5-star rating.

Originally seen in retail and sales, the mystery shopper idea imitates typical customer behaviour, but remains anonymous. Mystery shoppers discreetly check that services are being delivered to the high standards expected by the public.

The Science Centre managed to obtain an overwhelming score higher than 90% in areas relating to Access, Communication, Empathy, Competence, Courtesy, Reliability and Responsiveness. The mystery shopping exercise revealed that the overall quality of service provided to customers in 2022 was ‘excellent’.

Further to the recent renewal of the Quality Assurance seal which the Science Centre received from the Malta Tourism Authority, Esplora launched its five Corporate Values to highlight and tally its priorities with National, European and International strategies, policies and agenda. The Science Centre and all its staff members take pride in embracing the five values of Excellence, Inclusivity, Passion, Innovation and Engagement.

Esplora has been declared a flagship funded project for Malta by the European Commission. Housed on a previous abandoned and dilapidated historic building, the Science Centre opened its doors in 2016 under the Executive Chairmanship of Dr Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, and has now established itself among one of the most popular visitor centres on the island – a showcase of the best Malta can offer.
