Discover the Importance of Bees with Esplora on World Bee Day!

Esplora, Malta’s Interactive Science Centre, is excited to announce its upcoming celebration of World Bee Day on the 19th May between 9am and 3pm and on the 20th of May between 10am and 5pm. This two-day beekeeping event is designed to educate the public about the vital role that bees play in our ecosystem and the importance of beekeeping.

As pollinators, bees play a critical role in the production of our food, supporting sustainable agriculture and enhancing biodiversity. Additionally, bees are essential for the conservation of the environment and the mitigation of climate change.

At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet members from the organisation L-għaqda tat-trobbija tan-naħal u l-għasel Malti, and other experts in the field of beekeeping. Participants will learn about the basics of beekeeping, the different types of bees, their life cycle, and the importance of bee conservation. Moreover, there will be a complimentary honey tasting on the day of the event. Attendees will also have the option to purchase honey, and those interested in honeycombs will be able to place an order.
