PRESS RELEASE BY THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARIAT FOR YOUTH, RESEARCH, AND INNOVATION

Easter at Esplora with the ‘Spring into Science’ Event.

Esplora, the Interactive Science Centre will be celebrating Easter with an event called “Spring into Science”. Details of the event were announced by Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation Keith Azzopardi Tanti and Head of Esplora Olaf McKay, during a press-conference held at Esplora.

The event will take place between April 2nd to April 7th, 2024, and those who visit the interactive science centre will have the opportunity to participate in various Easter-themed science workshops, and fun-activities involving all the family.

Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti stressed the importance of these type of events as they continue to usher in the Easter spirit “The Easter celebrations at Esplora not only offer a great experience for all families, but they also provide valuable educational opportunities.” He went on to explain how “Through such activities we lure the minds of different ages closer to science and STEM subjects. I firmly believe that without creativity and imagination, it would be almost impossible to create any form of innovation which is crucial to the digital world which we live in today.”

Esplora’s Senior Director, Olaf McKay explained that the Interactive Science Centre will host a week of Easter-themed activities, workshops, and exhibitions where families will have the opportunity to act as a team to solve concepts linked to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), whilst having fun. The main objective of this week-long event is to bring the Maltese family closer to science while they apply their scientific knowledge to fun activities, all in a unique atmosphere that only Esplora can offer.”
