As part of the EY-STEAM Erasmus+ project Esplora will be organising three sessions of Science Café. Throughout these science café sessions ‘Unlocking AI- Can you crack the code?’, we will be addressing myths and misconceptions about Artificial Intelligence by defining what it really is and what it is capable of doing. The activity portion of the workshop will be an escape room inspired codebreaker, with physical puzzles that the participants must solve in order to arrive at a final goal. This will be themed around the Enigma machine which will be used to decipher messages hidden within the puzzles.
Throughout the game, the participants will be taking a look at core concepts in AI such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, computer vision and the difference between narrow, general and strong AI. In order to put all of these into context, the audience will also be exposed to real life applications of AI which are undoubtedly already part of their daily lives: recommendation systems, digital smart assistants, face ID, chatbots etc. After this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to know more on through a discussion together with professionals within this sector.
These 3 sessions will be held on the following dates:
Thursday 7th April – first session starts at 5.30 pm and second session starts at 7.00 pm
Friday 8th April – one session at 6.00 pm
This workshop is targeted for youths aged 20-24 years.
