Black Hole And Neutron Star Collision

S190814bv is the name of an event that was discovered by LIGO and Virgo at 21:11 UTC on the 14^th of August.2019
Both LIGO and Virgo are large interferometer designed to detect gravitational waves predicted by the general theory of relativity.
From the initial analysis, the percentage that a Black Hole and a Neutron Star would explode together was 99%.
Earlier this year, there was a 13% probability of another event happening. However, the signal noise ratio was too low, so the astronomers didn’t follow it up.
Ryan Foley is an astronomer and his colleagues are using the Keck Observatory to study a galaxy which is around 900 million light years away. They think that’s where the signals have originated.
